PERFORMANCE
Subaru Solterra

When you think of EVs, you probably think of instantaneous torque that rockets you down the road, or you think of all the long-distance road trips you could take on a single charge. The Solterra and the EV6 will add an extra adventurous layer to your vision.

An Incomparable Competitor

The Subaru comes standard with the StarDrive® all-electric drivetrain, which consists of dual independent front and rear eAxle AC synchronous electric motor units. The Kia is equipped with a permanent magnet AC synchronous motor. These lively powertrains are paired with Regenerative Braking systems, making long-distance round trips a constant possibility.

This begs the question: Which model is more powerful? Both produce over 200 lb-ft of torque, helping you jet off to the woods or down the highway in record timing. However, the Subaru is capable of 215 horsepower, while the Kia generates 167 horsepower. Buckle up because the Solterra is ready to show you unparalleled acceleration.

Take the Wild Way Home

If you find yourself never backing down from a challenge, you’ll love the Solterra’s standard Symmetrical All-Wheel Drive. This drivetrain comes with X-MODE®, a performance feature that does the following:

  • Optimizes drivetrain output
  • Increases all-wheel drive system engagement
  • Enhances control to reduce individual wheelspin
  • Introduces Grip Control, a feature that determines road surface characteristics on level, inclining, or declining roads

If you find yourself in a pickle in the great outdoors, the Subaru will make it through. The Kia EV6, on the other hand, comes standard with rear-wheel drive, which may be more suitable for on-road jaunts.

INTERIOR
Subaru Solterra

When your adventure bug leads you to strenuous hiking trails or a remote lake, you’ll need comfort and space. The Solterra and the EV6 deliver in these regards; however, the Subaru goes the extra mile to ensure ultimate versatility.

Adventure-Proof Interior

After a long hike, you can treat yourself and your adventure buddy to an enjoyable drive back to home base. Whether that’s a campsite or a cabin in the woods, the standard heated front seats and dual-zone climate control systems on these EVs will help you settle in and relax your tired muscles.

The Subaru extends your comfort in a unique way. It’s available with StarTex® upholstery, which is waterproof and stain resistant. Are you thinking what we’re thinking? You can adventure wildly without leaving a trace. The Kia goes without a similar mess-resistant fabric.

Got Gear?

With the ability to travel far on a single charge, you can expand your adventure itinerary to new places, like the beach or the mountains! If you plan on surfing in the ocean, fishing in a pond, or visiting a ski lodge, these EVs have the space for your gear, but which one has more?

  • Subaru Solterra Maximum Cargo Capacity: 63.5 cubic feet
  • Kia EV6 Maximum Cargo Capacity: 50.2 cubic feet

With 13 extra cubic feet of cargo space available, you’ll have an easier time fitting in kayak oars, fishing poles, surfboards, or camping equipment in the Solterra. You may be left playing Tetris in the EV6.

TECHNOLOGY
Subaru Solterra

With the Solterra and the EV6, you can go off the grid and still stay connected to family and friends. These EVs have driver-centric command centers that put you at the forefront of innovation.

What Are You Listening To?

As you sit at the helm, you’ll have an impressive command center before you. On top of vast displays, you can pair your phone to the suite with any of these smartphone integrations and enjoy a personalized listening experience:

  • Apple CarPlay®
  • Android Auto™
  • Bluetooth®
  • SiriusXM®

You can stream Apple Music or Amazon Music in the Subaru too! These integrations give drivers more ways to listen to their preferred music, podcasts, or audiobooks.

Hey, Subaru!

Are you traveling solo? You’ll have an intelligent assistant vehicle interface to keep you company in the Solterra. Consider it a digital concierge that can take care of common in-vehicle tasks while you focus on the road. Did we mention it controls vehicle settings and functions just by the sound of your voice? Cool, right?

To get started, you’ll say, “Hey, Subaru,” and follow it with your command. You can ask this digital assistant to adjust climate settings, change radio stations, or place a call to your best friend—all without taking your hands off the wheel or your eyes off the road.

Unfortunately, the Kia EV6 goes without a similar artificial intelligence that brings convenience to your commute.
