Love Promise Stories from All American Subaru of Old Bridge

Subaru and All American Subaru of Old Bridge believe in making a positive impact on the communities in which we live and work. We uphold that belief through our Love Promise Community Commitment. Every month, we select inspiring stories from customers and partners from around our area who strive to support our collective commitment and feature them here.

Operation Warm - Raritan Valley YMCA - Gina S.

Monday, January 19th was a cold winter day, with students returning to childcare after 2 weekend snowstorms leaving our community with 26 degree morning temperatures!  To our rescue came Operation Warm, a national Subaru initiative to help those in need with coat donations.  All American Subaru of Old Bridge, NJ selected the Raritan Valley YMCA to participate in their local impact effort.  What an impact it provided on one of the coldest days of the year, sending children home with new coats!  Many children in the Y's care come with ill fitting, worn hand me downs, coats with broken zippers and tears.  Other youngsters come to school in hoodies or babies wrapped in blankets, despite freezing temperatures. The YMCA cares about the overall well-being of their participating families, 90% who attend through a state subsidized tuition program.  In order to be sure that the families in their care have the basic necessities, partnerships, like Subaru's Operation Warm, help fill in gaps, ensuring health and safety.  All children know through this process is that they were getting a new coat, one in a color that they like with pockets and a zipper that works.  Y staff and Subaru volunteers ensured the fit, while children beamed with smiles.  Anything we can do to support families is important to each child.  THANK YOU SUBARU!

Tree Giveaway - Arbor Day - Vicki L.

A heartfelt thank you to All American Subaru for partnering with the Arbor Day Foundation and showing such meaningful dedication to improving our community’s environment. I was absolutely thrilled to receive an Eastern Redbud and a Serviceberry—two beautiful, native trees that will not only enhance the beauty of my landscape, but also provide vital shelter and food for local wildlife. These trees will help reduce carbon emissions, support biodiversity, and contribute to a thriving, sustainable ecosystem in our area. Your generosity and environmental stewardship are truly inspiring. Thank you, All American Subaru, for this wonderful and impactful gift!

All American Subaru of Old Bridge Teams Up to Support Local Community - Karen D.

Imagine going without a coat, shoes, or even socks. For millions of children and adults experiencing homelessness and other urgent need situations across the country, even here in Old Bridge, this is a harsh reality. Helping others strengthens communities, which is why All American Subaru of Old Bridge is partnering with Operation Warm®, a national nonprofit focused on connecting children with the resources they need to thrive. Through this partnership and other Subaru Loves to Help® efforts, Subaru and retailers like All American Subaru of Old Bridge have helped nearly 900,000 children and adults in urgent need. On 01/22/2025, All American Subaru of Old Bridge donated 120 shoes/socks to Raritan Valley YMCA. These essential items not only help keep children protected, warm, and dry, it can have a significant impact on a child's mental and emotional well-being.

Old Bridge Cultural Arts Committee - Subaru Loves the Earth - Brenda W.

Old Bridge, NJ, celebrated Earth Day with a special event organized by the Old Bridge's Cultural Arts Committee, aimed at raising awareness about protecting our planet through recycling and reusing materials. The event highlighted sustainability-focused activities and encouraged the community to think creatively about reducing waste while also fostering a sense of togetherness. Partnering with the Old Bridge Department of Public Works (DPW) and Middlesex Recycling, the event offered valuable resources and tips on effective recycling practices. This collaboration made it easier for residents to understand the importance of proper recycling and how they can reduce their ecological impact. Elementary school students in Old Bridge played a big part in the celebration. They used recycled materials to create eco-friendly projects, turning environmental awareness into tangible actions. This hands-on approach not only empowered students to embrace sustainability but also allowed them to showcase their creativity. A standout moment was when All American Subaru of Old Bridge generously donated trees, highlighting their commitment to local environmental initiatives and a greener future. The support from businesses, alongside student involvement and the teamwork between the DPW and Middlesex Recycling, really showed how effective community partnerships can foster long- term environmental stewardship. Together, these efforts demonstrated how united action can lead to real change and inspired residents to continue sustainable practices long after Earth Day. POAC Autism Walk for a Difference - Simone T.

Each year POAC Autism Services runs 5 walk-a-thons throughout the state. These walks not only raise the funds to provide recreation and training all year long, but they also provide a free family carnival and resource fair to everyone who participates. With rides, games, music, food, and characters it’s a great day of fun for everyone. All American Subaru has been a fixture at these events for the past 3 years. While their sponsorship has been a tremendous support to the local autism community, their volunteers are what make their participation so special. They bring lots of goodies for the kids and always have a brand-new vehicle to show. The Sayreville walk would not be the same without them! The partnership between All American and POAC has helped with the training of police and first responders right in the local community. It also supports school assemblies to elementary students in Autism Acceptance every year right in Sayreville, as well as recreational activities right in Monmouth and Middlesex counties. POAC can’t do what we do without the support of great companies like All American Subaru. It’s no wonder that they have been awarded the prestigious Subaru Love Promise Customer and Community Commitment Gold Award every year since its inception. They truly are community oriented. Thank you to the management, employees, and volunteers who are all helping to make life better for people with autism throughout New Jersey!

Old Bridge Police Department Partnerships - Pat D.

For the past eight years, All American Subaru has proudly partnered with the Old Bridge Police Department, offering substantial and consistent support to the local community. Each year, the Police Benevolent Association (PBA #127) hosts the Cops for Kids Christmas Party, a joyful and memorable event for participating families. All American Subaru contributes to the success of this celebration by donating holiday gifts that are distributed during the festivities. Through its partnership with the Feel Better Bears initiative and NJ101.5, All American Subaru also provides stuffed animals to officers. These bears are given to children during traffic stops or emergency calls, offering comfort and reassurance during potentially stressful situations. Additionally, All American Subaru supports the Old Bridge Police Department’s drug education program by supplying fidget poppers—quiet, stress-relieving toys. Officers distribute these tools while engaging with fourth-grade students throughout the township, helping to create a more relaxed and receptive learning environment. We sincerely thank All American Subaru for their ongoing generosity and meaningful contributions to our community programs. Det. Pat D’Onofrio

POAC - Share the Love - Simone T.

For the past three years, All American Subaru has partnered with POAC Autism Services in support of their mission to make life better for individuals with autism throughout New Jersey. That’s a big goal, so how do we make life better? Since 1999 POAC has been providing support and recreational events to individuals with autism and their families as well as training for parents, educators, and police and first responders. With safety at the core of POAC’s focus, thousands of law enforcement officers are trained in Autism Recognition and Response every year. This training has literally been credited with saving lives. In addition, and with the support of past Share the Love campaigns, POAC offers free online resources, videos, and links to other tools and curricula to help keep individuals with autism safety. But it’s not all about safety. POAC also provides recreational activities to individuals with autism and their families. These events not only bring joy to the children and adults who participate but also give them and their families the opportunity to make friends and try new activities. We also provide online and in person support groups to help the New Jersey autism community connect with each other and with services in their local region. For the past three years, All American Subaru has been a critical partner in all these endeavors not only through the Share the Love campaign, but also through their support of our walk-a-thons. Each year, they have sponsored the walks, and employees volunteer their time to come out and lend a hand at the event. The over $65,000 that All American has raised for POAC over the last three years has truly been a driving force in making life better for the New Jersey autism community. Thank you, All American, for the lasting impact your support and continued sponsorship have on the families we serve every year.

Old Bridge Food Bank - Kristin A.

As the holiday season approaches, the volunteers and staff at the Old Bridge Food Bank experience a profound sense of gratitude. For the past four years, Subaru and All American Subaru have generously contributed critical food supplies to the food bank through food drives held at their dealership. This local community resource serves over 150 families in Old Bridge who face food insecurity, providing essential assistance to those in need. The mission of Subaru's Love Promise resonates deeply with the staff and volunteers at the Old Bridge Food Bank, particularly due to the warm outreach from Subaru and All American Subaru employees. The donations garnered through Subaru's annual food drives significantly amplify the food bank's impact on local residents in need. In recent years, Subaru, All American Subaru, and the Old Bridge Food Bank have collaborated closely to coordinate the gathering and delivery of food supplies, ensuring timely assistance during the holiday season. Cait Whitemore, the Marketing Manager, has played a pivotal role in this effort through her enthusiasm, creativity, and ability to inspire community involvement, rallying support during crucial times. Thanks to this partnership, the food bank consistently receives generous donations each year, which are vital for its recipients. More importantly, the food drives organized by All American Subaru raise awareness about food insecurity within the community and encourage further participation. The true reward lies in the meaningful connections forged between All American Subaru and the community, highlighting the desire of Subaru's customers and employees to effect genuine change in people's lives. This ongoing collaboration fosters a ripple effect of kindness and compassion that extends far beyond a single act of charity.

Subaru Loves Learning at JFK Elementary - Michael T.

JFK Students are thrilled to have support from All American Subaru again this year! The specific classrooms reached were as follows: Ronal Stuto - Grade 5, Jessica Koenig - Grade 4, Lisa Giordano - Grade 3, Kim Cuhna (Rachel Israilov) - Grade 2, Jackie Virag - Grade 1, and Danielle Kall - Kindergarten. **We actually had those teachers use the funds to support the entire grade level. The teachers indicated were the point people for the team, but the true benefit was for all students K-5. I have the personal pleasure of having the students handing out the donation kits and was able to see their excitement as they got notified. The students were thrilled to open up the kit and be able to start to use these materials to benefit learning in the classroom. As a school, we have shared this information with our families and the Board of Education to celebrate and acknowledge the donations. Information was also communicated to our staff as a whole as we kicked off the 2024 - 2025 School Year. We also have a bus located in the building with signatures on it to show appreciation. A big thank you to All American Subaru for your support this school year. We are lucky to have your donations impact our students daily at JFK!

Pet-A-Palooza 2024! - Joan C.

Better together. That’s the takeaway from our 9th year of partnership with All American Subaru Old Bridge. Sammy’s Hope takes at-risk animals who have been long-term residents at overcrowded municipal shelters whom potential adopters have passed over. This may be because they are shy, scared, or have significant medical needs. They may need more TLC than the current shelter can provide. That’s where Sammy’s Hope comes in. These deserving, loving animals are provided with training, medical care, and quality time through enrichment, provided by the volunteers who show up every day to share the Sammy’s Hope Love. All American Subaru Old Bridge plays a critical role in making it possible for Sammy's Hope to continue the life-saving efforts that the animals deserve. Every year in October, All American Subaru hosts a very well-attended pet adoption event, Pet-a-Palooza, at their dealership. This year the adoption event included 10 rescues, food trucks, pumpkin decorating, vendors who serve the pet industry, and of course, exposure to animal-loving attendees. Rescue groups had an opportunity to network with other rescues and showcase their adoptable dogs and cats to attendees and on social media with multiple Facebook Live posts throughout the day. Sammy's Hope and All American Subaru Old Bridge promote the event on social media platforms and direct mail marketing. New Jersey 101.5 (NJ’s preeminent radio station) promotes the event and hosts the cutest pet contest live from Pet-a-Palooza; a crowd-pleaser! It’s the partnership between All American Subaru Old Bridge and Sammy's Hope that makes it possible to rescue, rehabilitate, and place so many dogs and cats in loving homes. Every October, through the Subaru Loves Pets promotion and the extraordinary efforts of All American Subaru Old Bridge, Sammy’s Hope experiences an increase in adoptions – it’s our favorite month!

All American Subaru Delivers Warmth to Cancer Patients in Community - Samantha V.

For the past several years, All American Subaru of Old Bridge has been partnering with The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society (LLS) and CentraState Medical Center in Freehold New Jersey through the Subaru Loves to Care initiative. This partnership involves delivering blankets, patient care kits, and messaging of hope to those fighting cancer. On Friday June 14th, All American Subaru personally delivered these items to local cancer patients in treatment at CentraState. This amazing program has truly allowed these two organizations to not only positively impact the communities where they live and work, but sends hope, love and warmth to patients facing cancer. The CentraState staff expressed their sincere appreciation for All American Subaru who keep their patients in their thoughts when deciding where to bring their generous donations. This year, All American Subaru has also opted in to support the LLS Urgent Need Pediatric Program which will provide five pediatric cancer households with financial relief to help offset non-medical costs associated with treatment such as transportation, food, housing, utilities, and more.

POAC Autism Services - Simone T.

For the second year running, All American Subaru has partnered with POAC Autism Services, a New Jersey nonprofit dedicated to “Making Lives Better Every Day” for individuals with autism and their families. In 2023, All American donated over $15,000 to POAC through their Share the Love Campaign. This funding helped POAC to create and launch a new safety section on their website designed to help parents, educators, and first responders keep individuals with autism safe in the home, school, and community. POAC is a New Jersey based organization but the information and resources available on the website could potentially save lives far beyond our state. All American Subaru also goes the extra mile by participating in POAC’s annual Autism Walk for a Difference walk-a-thon as a sponsor and volunteer. The vehicle they sent was big hit with children and families as well as the free Frisbees and stress balls! Having All American on site for these walks not only helps raise funds, over $24,000 last year, but also creates a day of joy and togetherness for individuals with autism and their families. Autism can be an isolating condition and having events like this one helps families know they are not alone. The partnership between All American Subaru and POAC is so impactful to the thousands of families served by this organization and to the employees and customers who help support them. Every year POAC trains thousands of NJ police and first responders in autism recognition and response through their Autism Shield training program. In fact, to date, over 80,000 have been trained making our communities safer and more welcoming. All American Subaru is a driving force in this success and we look forward to continued partnership!

Operation Warm - Gina S.

The staff and families of the Raritan Valley YMCA were pleased to be visited by 3 kind employees from All American Subaru in Old Bridge as part of the Subaru Operation Warm coat donation program. As 90% of our children attend YMCA day care and school age childcare on financial subsidy, this was a heartwarming as well as coat warming experience! The coats replaced many ill-fitting and worn hand me downs and other coats with broken zippers that our staff struggle with at playground time. Some children previously came to school without coats, instead dressed in sweaters or hoodies, preventing winter outdoor play. Tables were set up in the gym with boxes of different sized coats and teachers brought their age group to the appropriate table. Then, able volunteers from All American Subaru and the YMCA Board of Directors assisted with the coat fitting. Once fitted, the children ran around the gym in their new coats while staff gathered candid photos and others posed for pictures. This was our first Subaru gift experience, and we hope that this will become an annual event. Subaru Loves to Help!

A Promise Made with Love and Hope - Joan C.

2023 Love Promise Story Be a good person, love who you can, help where you can, give what you can. Sammy’s Hope volunteers bring this mantra to the Sammy’s Hope Animal Welfare Center every day. Animal rescue is difficult and can be emotionally draining, but seeing the once homeless animals thrive in forever homes is what makes it all worth it. Sammy’s Hope takes at-risk animals who have been long term residents at overcrowded municipal shelters who have been passed over by potential adopters. This may be because they are shy, scared, or have significant medical needs. They may need more TLC than the current shelter has the capacity to provide. That’s where Sammy’s Hope comes in. It isn't just the volunteers at Sammy's Hope that make this possible, though. As a 501 (c)3 non-profit, volunteer organization, we rely on the support of sponsors like All American Subaru that play a critical role in making it possible for Sammy's Hope to continue the life-saving efforts that the animals so deserve. Every year in October, All American Subaru hosts a very well-attended pet adoption event, Pet-a-Palooza, at their dealership in which Sammy's Hope has been participating for six years. This adoption event gives the rescue group an opportunity like no other: the chance to network with other rescues, vendors who serve the pet industry, and of course, exposure to animal loving attendees. Sammy's Hope promotes All American Subaru and this event on social media platforms and direct mail marketing. It is the partnership between All American Subaru and Sammy's Hope that makes it possible to rescue so many dogs and cats each year. Dogs like Toby, found on the side of the road with a broken leg, would not have received his life-saving surgery to reconstruct his leg; nor would little feline Demi have received needed surgery to repair her leg. Without intervention, there was a real concern that these animals would not have survived. Toby and Demi are now thriving with their loving families. Without sponsors like All American Subaru, who knows what would have happened to them. It is All American Subaru’s support that makes it possible for Sammy's Hope to rescue, rehabilitate, and give SO many dogs and cats the homes they deserve!

Cancer Is Not My Legacy - Ryan C.

Dear All American Subaru Team, I hope this letter finds you all in good health and high spirits. My name is Ryan Crane, and I am writing to express my sincerest gratitude to each and every member of the All American Subaru team. Your exceptional service and support have left a lasting impression on me, and I am truly grateful for your kindness and generosity. As you may know, I have been on a challenging journey fighting cancer. Despite the ups and downs that come with this adventure, I am thrilled to share that I am now in remission. However, the road to recovery has been anything but smooth, and I am still unable to resume a normal workday due to ongoing health issues. Instead, I have redirected my focus towards my passion for photography, and I now run RyanCranePhotography.com. Throughout my cancer adventure, I have been candid and open about my experiences, aiming to provide a supportive space for others facing similar challenges. I firmly believe that this journey can be viewed as an adventure, filled with triumphs and setbacks, and I have been fortunate to offer solace and understanding to those who needed someone to talk to while maintaining their privacy. It is through this journey that I initiated the "Cancer Is Not My Legacy" project, which aims to inspire and motivate others fighting cancer, showing them that it is not an end-all, and there is hope and life beyond the battle. Your support and assistance during this time have been nothing short of remarkable. The way your team went above and beyond to cater to my needs and ensure my satisfaction was truly heartwarming. From providing reliable transportation to delivering exceptional customer service, the team at All American Subaru has truly blown me away in every way. Your compassion and dedication have made a significant impact on my life and the lives of those I am trying to support through my project. I want to take this opportunity to express my heartfelt appreciation to everyone at All American Subaru for your generosity, empathy, and commitment. Your actions have not only helped me in my fight against cancer but have also bolstered my efforts to assist others on their own journeys. I am incredibly grateful for your contribution to my cause and my mission to make a positive difference in the lives of cancer warriors.

Sammy's Hope Charity Golf Outing - Joan C.

Sammy’s Hope Animal Welfare and Adoption Center is a special place where dogs and cats find refuge from large over-crowded, overwhelmed shelters. The volunteers of Sammy's Hope Animal Welfare and Adoption Center work tirelessly to ensure every animal is provided with proper nutrition, quality time, medical care, and training every day. Animal rescue can be a difficult and emotionally draining experience, but seeing the once-homeless animals thrive in loving homes is what makes it all worth it. It isn't just the volunteers at Sammy's Hope that make this possible, though. It is sponsors like All American Subaru that play a tremendous role in making it possible for Sammy’s Hope to continue the life-saving efforts that the animals so deserve. Without financial support, Sammy’s Hope could not exist. Annual sponsorship of the Sammy’s Hope Charity Golf Outing by All American Subaru provides critical support for the rescue. In return, Sammy's Hope promotes All American Subaru on social media platforms, along with signage and announcements at the event. It is the partnership between All American Subaru and Sammy's Hope that makes it possible to rescue not only adult dogs and cats, but puppies and kittens too. Who doesn’t love puppies and kittens? Though they do require more socialization, medical care and of course proper nutrition. All of which provides a solid foundation for a healthy life! Earlier this year, Sammy’s Hope took on the responsibility of taking in eight puppies, avoiding a sad outcome for these precious dogs. Upon intake Sammy's Hope immediately placed all eight puppies into foster homes until forever homes were found. The puppies were provided with medical care, including vaccinations and microchips, and Sammy’s Hope will ensure spay/neuter surgeries when they reach the appropriate age. All eight puppies are now thriving with their loving forever families. The rescue also took in many kittens this year, providing them with foster homes, socialization, and the medical care they needed to thrive. Without sponsors like All American Subaru, this work would not be possible, and we are so grateful for their partnership. It is their support that makes it possible for Sammy's Hope to rescue, rehabilitate, and give many dogs and cats the homes they deserve!

SRB Help Center - Subaru Loves to Help® - Linda A.

All American Subaru has been partnered with the St. Robert Bellarmine Help Center for several years now and are always looking for new ways to help service the local communities. During Subaru Loves to Help, they donated Subaru socks to the St. Robert Bellarmine Help Center to distribute to local people and families in need. So many people benefited from this and they continue to be a helping hand to those that may be struggling. The All American Subaru staff had a great time delivering them and seeing the smiles on people’s faces. St. Robert Bellarmine Help Center works to assist local homeless shelters and those in need of things such as household items and furnishings for bedrooms and kitchens.

JAR of Hope - Texas Hold 'Em Poker Night - Linda B.

On Sunday, February 19th, 2023, All American Subaru hosted one of their main charity partners, JAR of Hope, in their annual Texas Hold ’Em Poker Tournament. The event was held in their Old Bridge showroom and was attended by over 100 people who came to play poker and support the cause. The proceeds from the event directly benefited JAR of Hope and their fight to find a cure for Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy, a fatal muscle wasting disease that to date has no cure. JAR of Hope’s founder, Jim Raffone, presented a moving and emotional speech before the event began reminding everyone of the message and purpose of the charity; save the first child. Several employees of All American Subaru volunteered to host the event and even participate in the poker tournament itself. Thanks to these types of events, the funds raised are able to go towards clinical trials for new types of medicine, therapy and treatment for Duchenne in hopes that one day a cure will be found.

POAC Autism Services - Share The Love - Simone T.

POAC Autism Services recently partnered with All American Subaru to help support the autism community in New Jersey. POAC is a non-profit organization that is dedicated to “Making Lives Better Every Day” for individuals with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), and their families. Through a focused effort on providing training opportunities to parents, educators, first responders, and medical staff, as well as recreational opportunities to children and adults with ASD and their families, we are making NJ communities safer and more welcoming to this vulnerable population. Most importantly, POAC was one of the first organizations to recognize the needs of individuals with ASD regarding safety and victimization, and we have grown to become a leading provider of information and training on this topic through our Autism Shield Program. This program has been directly credited with saving lives throughout New Jersey. In fact, to date, over 77,000 New Jersey first responders have been trained by POAC in autism recognition and response regardless of a department or agency’s ability to pay for the program. The importance of POAC’s recreational program cannot be overstated. Every year, from carnivals, to indoor pool parties, to holiday events, to gym parties, POAC provides thousands of hours of recreational events throughout New Jersey. These events are open to all individuals with ASD through the lifespan and across the autism spectrum and they include siblings and family members. Having fun and trying new things are important aspects of the program, but there is so much more going on. For many families, these events are the only place where they feel truly welcome, safe, and included. These events are also a great place to practice social and other skills that are being learned in more restrictive environments, in fact several children have spoken their first words at POAC events. Some have learned to swim, and many friendships have been made and a real community has been formed. Support and friendship have replaced fear and isolation. All American has also committed to participating in our upcoming walk-a-thon on June 3rd as a Gold Sponsor. This event is so much more than a walk-a-thon. It’s also a free family carnival where children and adults with ASD can come out and enjoy rides, food, costume characters, a resource fair, and more. We look forward to having All American at the event with volunteers to make the day extra special for the families who come out. There are many challenges associated with autism and it’s vitally important for those with ASD and their families to know that the community is accepting and welcoming to them. When we were first approached by All American to be the beneficiary of the Subaru Share the Love® Event, we could not have been more thrilled. All American is located right in the heart of New Jersey and so many of the families and first responders we provide services to are right in this area. The funds raised by Share the Love are truly impacting the lives of those right in the local community and beyond. POAC is a lean organization doing a lot with a small budget so having this partnership is invaluable to us and those we serve. Our focus on safety is making a lasting impact and we are honored to have Subaru as a partner.

CentraState Healthcare Foundation - Nicole R.

Since CentraState Healthcare Foundation’s inception in 1981, our mission has been to serve as the link between CentraState Healthcare System and the region. Through our volunteer and contribution opportunities, the Foundation offers residents and businesses a way to become stakeholders in their hospital. We are a true partner with the community. In June 2022, Green Leaf Pet Resort in Millstone co-hosted a free Canine Carnival with CentraState Healthcare Foundation and All American Subaru in Old Bridge. At the event, a car raffle was sponsored by All American Subaru which raised nearly $6,000 to support Pediatrics at CentraState. A CentraState team member and Brick resident was the lucky winner of a two-year lease on a 2022 Cool Gray Khaki Subaru Crosstrek. The team member was searching for some sign of hope or good luck, as just the day before she learned of a tumor on her kidney. When CentraState informed her that she was the winner, she was overjoyed. Since then, she has had successful kidney surgery on what turned out to be a non-cancerous tumor and is thankful for her new car and more time to spend with her children and grandchildren. In addition to the incredible aforementioned story, the relationship between CentraState and All American Subaru in Old Bridge has provided more occasions to work together to make an even bigger impact on the community. All American Subaru connected back with CentraState during the Subaru Loves to Care campaign and were able to donate 80 blankets and 30 craft kits to distribute to cancer patients and survivors that are in our region. We are so grateful for the generosity of All American Subaru in Old Bridge and look forward to more opportunities to collaborate in the future.

Animal rescue can be a difficult and emotionally-draining experience, but seeing the once-homeless animals thrive in forever homes is what makes it all worth it. The volunteers of Sammy's Hope Animal Welfare and Adoption Center know this experience all too well. Sammy’s Hope pulls deserving, loving animals from overcrowded shelters, and through training, medical care, and quality time, the volunteers give the cats and dogs of Sammy's Hope the absolute best chance at finding their FURever homes. It isn't just the volunteers at Sammy's Hope that make this possible, though. It is sponsors like All American Subaru that play a critical role in making it possible for Sammy's Hope to continue the life-saving efforts that the animals so deserve. Every year in October, All American Subaru hosts a very well-attended pet adoption event at their dealership in which Sammy's Hope has been participating for five years. This adoption event gives the rescue group an opportunity like no other: the chance to network with other rescues, vendors who serve the pet industry, and of course, exposure to animal-loving attendees. All American Subaru does not stop there, though. The dealership sponsors Sammy's Hope's annual 5K and golf outing. In turn, Sammy's Hope promotes All American Subaru on social media platforms, with signage and announcements at each event. It is the partnership between All American Subaru and Sammy's Hope that makes it possible to rescue not only adult dogs, but puppies too. Earlier this year, Sammy’s Hope took on a huge responsibility of providing the necessary care to multiple adult dogs and puppies living in deplorable conditions. Without intervention, there was a real concern that they would not survive, especially vulnerable puppies. They were able to provide these dogs with vaccinations and spay/neuter, good nutrition and forever homes. The dogs are now thriving with their loving families. Without sponsors like All American Subaru, who knows where these loving dogs and puppies would have ended up? It is their support that makes it possible for Sammy's Hope to rescue, rehabilitate, and give SO many dogs and cats the homes they deserve!

JAR of Hope - Mike L - Mike L.

JAR of Hope is a non-profit organization committed to providing a better future for children afflicted with DMD. Children who are diagnosed with DMD eventually lose the ability to walk usually before their teenage years, are wheelchair-bound by 9 years old and need the assistance of a ventilator to breathe by the time they are 17 years old. They will ultimately pass away statistically before they reach 21 years old. The most current trial in an effort to find a cure is now taking place at the University of Florida. We are seeing positive early results indicating that regenerative medicine might be a better course of treatment for some patients. These types of trials are extremely expensive and could not happen without the support of our partners, especially All American Subaru who supports us year-round. In September of 2013, Jim and Karen Raffone received news that no parent should ever get. On that day, their now 13-year-old-son, James Anthony Raffone, was diagnosed with Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy (DMD), a fatal muscle wasting disease. The decision to give up his former business, sell everything and decide to put all of his energy into finding a cure for DMD was the obvious decision that Jim knew he was going to make. JAR of Hope’s mission is dedicated to bringing awareness and raising funds directed toward ongoing research to eliminate Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy. This year with the help of the Subaru Share the Love campaign, All American Subaru generously presented us with a check for $36,000. This money will go towards JAR of Hope’s mission: saving the first child from Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy. All American Subaru are long-time supporters of JAR of Hope. They’ve consistently held campaigns and fundraisers in honor of JAR of Hope, and are always willing to volunteer to help out in any way they can. They have been incredibly generous with their time, donations and efforts.

Animal rescue can be a difficult and emotionally-draining experience, but seeing the once-homeless animals thrive in forever homes is what makes it all worth it. The volunteers of Sammy's Hope Animal Welfare and Adoption Center know this experience all too well. The volunteers and staff of Sammy’s Hope pull affectionate, adorable, sweet, loving animals from overcrowded shelters, and through training, medical care, and even just spending time with the animals, they give the cats and dogs of Sammy's Hope the absolute best chance at finding their FURever homes. It isn't just the volunteers at Sammy's Hope that make this possible, though. It is sponsors like All American Subaru that play a tremendous role in making it possible for the rescue to continue the life-saving efforts that the animals so deserve. Every year in October, All American Subaru hosts a very well-attended pet adoption event at their dealership in which Sammy's Hope has been participating for four years. Even last year, during the COVID-19 pandemic, when the usual adoption event was not possible, All American Subaru hosted a weekly video series to gain exposure for the animals of Sammy’s Hope. This adoption event gives the rescue group an opportunity like no other: the chance to network with other rescues, with vendors who serve the pet industry, and of course, with animal-loving attendees. All American Subaru does not stop there, though. The dealership sponsors Sammy's Hope's annual 5K and golf outing. In turn, Sammy's Hope promotes All American Subaru on social media platforms, with signage, and announcement at each event. It is the partnership between All American Subaru and Sammy's Hope that makes it possible for a dog like June, a loving pit bull who ended up being pregnant, or Chase, an affectionate pit bull stuck in the shelter for far too long, or Domino, an adorable, often-looked-over cat who is now thriving, to find their perfect forever homes and be given the affection they have been longing for. Without sponsors like All American Subaru, who knows where these loving dogs and cats would end up? It is their support that makes it possible for Sammy's Hope to rescue, rehabilitate, and give SO many dogs and cats the homes they deserve!

JAR of Hope - Jeannine B.

It was September 13, 2013, when Jim and Karen Raffone received the news that no parent should ever get, thy were told that their child was sick. On that day, their now 12-year-old-son, James Anthony Raffone, was diagnosed with Duchenne muscular dystrophy (DMD), a fatal disease. It was shortly after hearing that news that Jim Raffone gave up his former business, sold everything and decided to put all of his energy into finding a cure for DMD, thus JAR of Hope was born. James Anthony Raffone (“Jamesy”) is the J-A-R in JAR of Hope and the inspiration behind the organization.JAR of Hope’s mission is dedicated to bringing awareness and raising funds directed toward ongoing research to eliminate Duchenne muscular dystrophy. JAR of Hope is a non-profit organization committed to providing a better future for children afflicted with DMD. Duchenne is a very rare, muscle-wasting, fatal disease that falls on the X chromosome and because the dystrophin gene is on the X chromosome, Duchenne primarily affects boys. Children who are diagnosed with DMD eventually lose the ability to walk usually before their teenage years, are wheelchair-bound by 9 years old and need the assistance of a ventilator to breathe by the time they are 17 years old. They will ultimately pass away statistically before they reach 21 years old. It is a very painful disease that has been around for 200 years with no cure to date. All American Subaru are long-time supporters of JAR of Hope. They’ve consistently held campaigns and fundraisers in honor of JAR of Hope, and are always willing to volunteer to help out in any way they can. They have been incredibly generous with their time, donations and efforts. They’ve been here for us pre-pandemic, during the pandemic and post-pandemic. Subaru’s support has and continues to have a tremendous impact on the children of JAR of Hope. We currently have an experimental study for children affected with DMD that has shown great promise in slowing the progression of this disease down and has even restored movement in children who otherwise had no option or hope for a brighter future. This therapy, unfortunately, comes with a very high price tag of $100,000 per year per child. That number is very large and scary. With Subaru’s support, we have been able to provide this therapy to four children so far this year. To hear a parent say, “My child has slept through the night without us having to turn him because of pain,” is priceless or to have a parent send in their child’s bloodwork showing that their numbers are improving is miraculous. We cannot express enough gratitude to Subaru for helping us help others. Thank you for sharing your love!
