PERFORMANCE
Subaru Forester

The roads are full of surprises, especially if you want to take your journey off the beaten path. When you encounter rain-slick roads, uneven pavement, or deep mud, you'll need your SUV to have the traction and control to power through it.

Command the Road

The Nissan Rogue comes standard with front-wheel drive for a steady drive. It also features an available all-wheel drive (AWD) system for added control. You can take on standard road conditions, but what if you plan on more adventurous drives?

The Subaru’s standard Symmetrical All-Wheel Drive system is built with tough drives in mind. It adapts to changing road conditions by delivering optimal power to the wheels. Powerful acceleration on smooth, dry roads will reinvigorate your commutes and road trips. Plus, you’ll have improved grip on wet highways, bumpy back roads, and other tricky terrain.

Adventures Without Limits

If you’re ready to take your adventures to the next level—or go way off the grid—Subaru has the answer: the Forester Wilderness. This trim level not only sports rugged good looks, but it’s also ready for anything. Its enhanced off-road capability is supported by:

  • Re-tuned gearing for low-speed climbing up to a 40 percent grade
  • Protective exterior cladding
  • All-terrain tires
  • 9.2 inches of ground clearance

When you’re ready to leave the asphalt in your rear view, choose the Forester. Unfortunately, the Rogue doesn’t offer an off-road-ready trim in its lineup.

TOWING
Subaru Forester

If you're looking forward to your next outdoor getaway, there are essential items you’ll need to take with you. Along with backpacks and coolers in the trunk, your trip will be more fun and memorable with your larger outdoor toys.

Towing All the Essentials

Do you daydream about gliding across a serene lake in your canoe or kayak? Or biking down a beautiful path through the countryside? If so, you’ll need an SUV with ample towing power.

The Subaru Forester is graded for towing these large items. It's a powerful SUV that can handle your big equipment and gear with ease. In fact, the Subaru Forester can tow up to 1,500 pounds of trailer weight when properly equipped. If you’re driving the Forester Wilderness trim, that towing capacity jumps up to 3,000 pounds.

Unfortunately, the Nissan Rogue is not graded for towing. If you need to haul a boat, a small camper, or a trailer, you may need to borrow someone else’s SUV.

Tow-Worthy Features

Of course, the Forester’s 2.5L engine paired with its Lineartronic® CVT (Continually Variable Transmission) is a plus when you plan to tow. To further aid your towing efforts, the Forester comes standard with the following features:

  • Trailer Stability Assist
  • LED Steering Responsive Headlights
  • Tire Pressure Monitoring System
  • EyeSight® Driver Assist Technology

The Forester also makes a Class II hitch receiver available.

INTERIOR
Subaru Forester

Whether you’re driving solo down a long stretch of highway or traveling with your friends to a vacation locale, one thing is certain: having abundant interior room is necessary! After all, no one wants to contend with leg cramps and back discomfort on a long drive.

Stay Comfortable During Long Drives

Overall, the Nissan Rogue doesn't provide as much interior space as the Subaru Forester. The Rogue has just 105.4 cubic feet of passenger volume and 74.1 cubic feet of maximum cargo space. What about the Forester? Its base trim provides 111.6 cubic feet of passenger volume and 74.2 cubic feet of maximum cargo space.

Plus, when it comes to being able to stretch out, you’ll find more legroom in both rows of the Subaru. The Forester provides 43.3 inches of front legroom and 39.4 inches of rear legroom. Compare this to the Rogue which offers its riders just 41.5 inches in the front row and 38.5 inches in the rear seats.

Cabin Amenities

Both models are evenly matched when it comes to their furnishings. The Forester and the Rogue each come with standard cloth seats with a 6-way manual driver’s seat, and offer available heated front and rear seats.

Likewise, they both feature a multimedia touchscreen that serves as the hub for your entertainment, climate control, and more. In either one, you can listen to your music, podcasts, or audiobooks through four standard speakers.

Additionally, they share these similar infotainment features:

  • Bluetooth® audio streaming and hands-free phone connectivity
  • Apple CarPlay® and Android Auto™ compatibility
  • SiriusXM® Satellite Radio

So, whether your travels take you across the state or just across town, you’ll remain informed, connected, and engaged in either the Forester or the Rogue.
